In previous roles, Newsham has established a clear pattern of civil rights violations, use of excessive & unconstitutional force, and mishandling of sexual assault cases. His appointment as MPD Chief would risk the safety and civil rights of DC residents at a time when First Amendment assemblies in the District are more important than ever.
